Too late broadcom. You are literal garbage, I hate dealing with your company, y’all are ignorant,l and rude, don’t give a shit, stupidly expensive and have way too many hurdles and shit for no reason.

    HyperV or anything else.

Hyper-V is a pain in the ass plus you are stuck with Microsoft and Microsoft support.

If anything spin up a Linux server and use libvirt with virtual manager.

    It's a trap

Seriously though they are starting to realize that businesses moved off VMware way faster than they anticipated. They also have figured out that they need testers.

Just stick with Proxmox or whatever else you want to use. It is a much safer bet.

My primary reason for using free ESXi has been career development. VMware was the biggest player at all of the biggest potential employers, so it made sense to be familiar with.

These days, they’re all looking to jump ship. Some are actively migrating, others won’t get there at all.

But all of them now value experience in alternatives at least as much, if not more than VMware.

I’m still using free ESXi, but the next time I rebuild (i.e. new hardware), it will not be ESXi.
