I mean, to be fair there IS a lot of fraud in science - corporations hiring people to write research which has a bias; but because of the scientific method, we find them and remove them constantly.

Conservatives think that Science is a competing religion, and not simply a method of learning about the world around you. They’re just short of flat-earthers, who’ve gone COMPLETELY bonkers and don’t trust any authority whatsoever.

I’d say, honestly, that those people probably have some sort of mental disorder.

There’s “science” the process, referring to the scientific method, and “science” the object, referring to the body of findings.

I trust science(p), because there really isn’t any better way we know of to approximate truth. I don’t “trust” science(o) because the whole point of science(p) is to constantly, vigilantly scrutinize and test science(o). I do cautiously accept most science(o) in my daily life, but always with the caveat that new information may change things. I would hope most scientists would agree.
