I saw this posted somewhere else. Really distressing. I am so appalled. It’s like nothing has changed, nothing has been learned from history. What the hell is wrong with human beings?

Point taken. And, thank you for the reminder.
Agreed. But the climate change isn’t affecting the wealthy, other than making them more money. Where I live, in B.C., some people are now unable to get fire insurance due to fires, others are unable to get flood insurance due to “atmospheric rivers”, which causes unnatural flooding. I’ll bet the major stockholders of the insurance companies have no problem with their insurance policies. Humanity is not being threatened with immediate impending doom. Just a long slow extinction.
Is that an argument for a defence attorney defending a murderer? So, the murderer was hurt, and they are justified? And better yet, let’s hurt children.
I refuse to take anyone’s side that murders innocent people. Children should NEVER be victims of political wars. When politicians that make these decisions put their own children in the line of fire, then tell me “I should really take a side”.
So, women and children, and hospitals, and first aid people are expendable. OK. This world is filled with evil, horrible people. And history will never be learned. Oh, and is Trump going to be turning the displaced area into a resort?
I touched in on it a bit during my studies :)
So, the Nazi’s sent Jewish people to concentration camps, did horrible things to their children (especially twins), gassed their relatives, displaced them… But they are now doing the same thing to Palestinians? I really don’t have a side politically. I just don’t understand.
I just don’t understand. What the Nazis did to people, to children? What the US is doing to people, to children? Sending innocent people to an El Salvador prison. I don’t understand why anyone would vote for this.
Wow. Kind of like the conservatives were WAY ahead in Canada, until Trump started talking about annexing our country. Suddenly we were united. I read somewhere that the only way humans would unite is if there was a common threat, like a huge asteroid heading for us that would annihilate the human race. We would work together. But after the threat was gone, I’m sure we would just revert back to our awful, hateful, human condition. Humans truly are a cancer.
It’s always been part of the human experience. Some wacko decides they’re going to control the world.
Thank you, UltraGIGaGigantic, for this information. I was completely unaware. So, I guess hate is just part of the human experience.
Have the Americans, (Canadians, Australians) not been educated about history? WWII? Your grandfathers fought and died in the trenches in WWII to save you from fascism. THEY FOUGHT AND DIED. WTF??
The Governors? Seriously? SCOTUS has no power. Innocent people, like Abrego Garcio, are being erroneously being deported to hellscape.
Edit for spelling
“Build, baby, build” is something Carney has pledged to do. I would like to see the return of government built housing for low income families. These were not “slums”. They were built for hard working people that didn’t enjoy high incomes. My son-in-law’s mother was lucky enough to get a unit in one of these places. It’s a well run place for retirees on a fixed income, and rent is based on income. New buildings won’t mean anything if the wealthy are building and running them (and charging rents). Send a respectful letter to your new government pointing this out!
Seriously? You’re shaming someone for learning a new word?
Me too! And a perfect description :)
I completely agree with everything you’ve said.
On what do you base the “do nothing” comment?
Let’s talk about the moment Donald Trump blinked. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t a tweetstorm or a rally rant. When the tariff threats that had the world on edge—125% on China, 25% on Canada’s autos, a global trade war in the making—suddenly softened. A “pause,” he called it. A complete turnaround from the chest-thumping of the past week. And the reason? Mark Carney and a slow, deliberate financial maneuver that most people didn’t even notice: the coordinated Treasury bond slow bleed. (https://lawandsocietymagazine.com/carneys-checkmate-how-canadas-quiet-bond-play-forced-trump-to-drop-tariffs/) This is Mark Carney. Thank you, fellow Canadians, for voting for the experienced Captain to man the helm in the rough waters ahead!
