

JPay is important, because in the modern US private prison system, it is INCREDIBLY expensive to be incarcerated. You pay for everything. The JPay system takes enormous fees out of your deposits, and you can quite literally drop $10 in there and wind up with $6 by the time it hits the account.
Yeah, this is pretty much it. There’s a TON of students who already left, probably closed out everything on this side of the border for them as well - apartment leases, class enrollments, etc. They aren’t coming back just because ICE said “we promise it won’t happen again”, and now all the dumb idiots who weren’t paying attention can now point at a soundbite and say “well ICE reversed those because they did them wrong/weren’t supposed to, so it’s fine”. Combine this with the woman who was literally black-bagged off her college campus in full daylight and full view of surveillance cameras by ICE, and I sure as hell wouldn’t wanna come back just because the government pinky-swears it won’t happen again.
