  • They got my mom like that… like literally a month before her retirement (25-something years working for them). Then HR offered her job back (a week later) because they had fucked up the paper trail, and knew it could come back on them

I advised her to lawyer-up, because it was an obvious wrongful termination/discrimination. But alas, she’s too sweet for her own good and happily retired now

She babysat for extra income and funsies (because she loves kids and was bored) spends a LOT more time with her grand-babies, and just continued being her sweet self, without having to deal with the grind. She could’ve been better off, had they not fucked her over; but it just wasn’t a priority for her to go through the rigamaro. I’ll always respect her for it

But also… man, I wish she would’ve fucked those people up in court, just outta principle. I hope to be as strong in the real way, like her one day

It’d probably be easier for you to just ignore the additional @format, especially now that you know why it happens (even though it annoys you). Mastodon to Lemmy communication isn’t seamless, but it’s cool that it can happen at all

And nobody’s gonna dig through settings to find a (probably non-existent) configuration that removes the blue links, when it’s something they don’t even see. Did you check your own config to see if it could remove the @'s from Mastadon replies?

Wayyyy easier to ignore your peeve and enjoy the upside of it all, imo

Or block? Idk, that would be a personal choice and feels counterproductive to me

Complete side note: I wonder if when a Mastodon user replies to a Lemmy comment that’s nested (like 10+ replies deep), does it @everyone in the comment thread? Is there a limit? I need answers, but am too ambivalent to try

  • I work night shifts. My manager one time called me around 2pm to ask me something menial and waking me up (as I was still sleeping for my next shift at 7pm).

So naturally, I called him at 2AM when I was at work… because I had an “urgent” question about a work policy lol. He got the picture, and that shit never happened again
