Yeah, my mother was with a guy she was dependent on when I was a kid. He was also a drunk, violent and controlling. Dunno if this guy is violent, but this level of controlling usually gets violent. You’re doing your kid a disservice by staying with him, and they might very well resent you for it later in life, or at the very least learn an extremely unhealthy relationship model from the two of you.
