Considering that they’re making completely unsupported allegations re: Abrego Garcia, I have no trust whatsoever that they did more than elementary school research into the crimes they’re attributing, and assume that nearly none of them are supported by court convictions.
Attention is invisible until you take the time to acknowledge it. People will never treat it as a resource of the same value as these companies, because they don’t even recognize it as something being taken away from them (despite that it is actually the most precious resource - our literal lives), and that disparity will always be profitable.
They have a right wing anti-EU, anti -LGBTQ populist candidate polling in the 20-25% range that - surprise, surprise - wants to withdraw Ukraine support.
Poland as well. It’s honestly happening everywhere, and I suspect Russia is funding a lot of it worldwide.
The 2002 law was designed to modernize the voting process. Under it, the Election Assistance Commission was given a number of mandates: distribute $2.8 billion in federal money for new voting equipment; create voluntary guidelines for voting systems and establish a federal testing and certification program for them; oversee the national voter registration form; and gather data about federal elections.
Just like DOGE, this is Trump attempting to hijack an existing, congressionally-approved group with one or two words in the title relevant to his goal, and completely disfigure it into an executive branch tool.
Trump isn’t smart enough to have planned either of these - this has the smarmy self-assured gloat of Stephen Miller all over it. A reminder that voters didn’t just vote in the cancer that is Trump, they voted in full metastasis.
I think a Republican congressman or two is also pushing for this.

Four years later, and they don’t bat an eye when the literal insurrectionists that nearly killed them are all pardoned, and nobody will even go on record calling it anything but Trump’s version.
By 2028, expect to see lockstep party agreement on this, as well as plans to actually do it - whether allowed or not - already well underway.
There are shirts that say “Rewrite the rules,” so it’s pretty clear that they know this isn’t allowed and are trying to start early and normalize tearing up the Constitution.

Yup, at one point he was just another republican institutionalist. I admit, I wrote him off.
But he worked really hard, he put in the effort. With his claim he can deport legal residents for future thought crime, and now just inviting in Russia propaganda, he is really becoming one of the most exemplary models of craven nihilistic power-worship in Trump’s cabinet - and that’s tough competition.
They’re still a corporate entity, and they still want access to markets to make money.
Sure, I just mean, look how long BOTW has been sold - it will be a fraction of that length of time before Switches cease being sold. Mostly I was pointing to the system refresh as not only a chance to reissue BOTW, but to reset pricing expectations.
There will be a future where BOTW S2-edition is still being sold and the Switch is not. From them on, BOTW will be a $90 game, since it will be the only way to get it.
