Man, Phil Knight is such an ass
The line is usually ‘where the majority party in Congress thinks it is’. That’s why even though they got impeached, none of those presidents left; look at which party was in charge at the time.
Make no mistake; the Republicans could have him out on his ass and facing criminal charges before you could blink if they wanted to. They don’t want to, because he’s doing exactly what they want him to do. 40-odd percent of Americans also think this is great.
And so, yes, he could shoot someone in Times Square and totally get away with it.
That’s the real problem. Trump and fascism are symptoms, not the cause. If the disease wasn’t there, like it wasn’t with Nixon (or at least, it was just starting to develop then), none of this would be an issue.
All these ‘it’s dropping!’ articles are just bullshit. It’s been in the 42-46% pretty much since he took office.
I think this is just rhetoric aimed at the left. ‘See, his popularity is fading! No need to worry and definitely no need to do anything about him!’
Kinda like the right gets ‘See, everyone loves him; he won on the popular vote and now he’s doing all the things you wanted him to! Remember to support him unconditionally!’
Because that’s not how the military works.
And in the end, it isn’t up to them. Trump won the popular vote. Not by much, but he’s in the White House legally and legitimately. Doesn’t matter what his ‘popularity ratings’ are now. We The People put him there, and We The People are the ones responsible for removing him.
Do you really want the military to decide ‘I know the majority of y’all voted for this, but we’ve decided we don’t like that, so we’re overthrowing the government’ for anything?
Because then they’d have to deport most Republican lawmakers.
It’s just going to be the ol’ ‘women aren’t allowed to go to school’ schtick again.
The prison is a labor camp you twat.
It is true.
You might want to switch news feeds if you missed that memo.
We’re aware you all are having a housing crisis. It wouldn’t be fair to dump a lot more of that issue on you.
Although I would certainly love to move up there if I had a choice.
Speaking as an Oregonian: they won’t. Trust me.
You’ve got that backwards. They’re turned on, and grabbing everything in sight.
Blazing Saddles. Soooo many good lines!
This is the same generation that gave us ‘participation trophies’ so their feelings and their kids’ feelings didn’t ‘get hurt’.
I’m not quite sure where this plague of ‘treat my feelings with kid gloves, otherwise I might die’ got started, but we really need to do something about it.
So, they want… a company town
So it’s important to remember that companies are not, by and large, moral. They exist for three reasons: to get the money, to get the money, and to get the money. Almost every choice a company makes is in service of that goal.
They are rarely, if ever, going to take moral stands, and it is useless to look at them through the lens of leading a moral crusade. Instead, it is better to look at them as a barometer of public opinion.
Politicians will say anything. Polls can be manipulated. But companies won’t bother with that slight-of-hand nonsense. They want money, and therefore they want people shopping with them as much as possible. And so they will do whatever they think will get them the most business.
50 years ago, can you imagine a business even uttering the term LGBTQ? It would have gotten them crucified. So they didn’t. Now LGBTQ rights are popular with the majority of Americans, so they make it part of their brand.
This thing with Target shows what happens when they get it wrong. And they really, really don’t like being wrong.
Won’t someone think of the billionaires!?
Oh man this is perfect lol
I remember a meme circulating a little while ago that went something like, ‘People who change their opinions because they’re annoyed by liberals are weak-willed; liberals are annoyed by other liberals every single day.’
This is intentional. They are doing this to force people to quit without firing them.
As a bonus, the people who leave tend to be the most skilled, and thus the highest paid, making their bottom line look even better!
Of course this also destroys morale, productivity, and long-term will probably tank the company, but as long as line go up now for shareholders/owners the ones at the top don’t care. After all, they’ll just walk away with their golden parachutes guaranteeing a safe landing.
