I’ve been neutral with Microsoft upgrades for years. Annoying, but not enough to want to change.

But after Cortana, I’m done in with upgrades. I’m sitting on Win10 forever until SteamOS fully works for every game i own. My work laptops are already off of Microsoft.

I work in marketing so I look at a LOT of stock photos. And every time I go, “Ah yeah AI garbage”, i find the source date is from 1990s or something. So my paranoia is way up there now where I don’t think I’m going to be able to tell in a few years.

They changed it (uncertain when) after a lot of publicity.

It is an informed decision.

They choose the party where a creepy ass man with multiple crimes and convictions is their president, one that continues to dismantle American justice by directly locking up opposing judges, locked kids in cells, and directly threatening opposers.

They could have chosen anything – to support local community. To back unity. To defend disenfranchised people.

Instead, they chose MAGA and everything it has with it.

Option 1: locked software owned by billionaires who can control the narrative and remove anything they don’t like

Option 2: open-source software anybody can use, coded by people with extreme opinions

On one end: this reminds me of the anime, Frieren. She talks about how demons learn to use human words to survive. Like a demon would cry “mother” because it knows humans will hesitate, even though demons don’t know what it means. It’s like a magic spell.

On the other end: the Animatrix has a scene where humans crush robots because they’re “not” human, even though AI robots tried their best to coexist peacefully.

It’s been like 8 hours since release and I’m not seeing any.
