The Nakba was a crime.
Under UN partition plan nobody would have needed to move. Everybody would stay where they live already. Jewish immigration would only go to one of the states. It was always planned with a minority of Jews in the Arab state and a minority of Arabs in the Jewish state. So no giving up land that was privately owned. All land acquired by Zionists until 1948 was legally purchased.
Why? To avoid war.
Between 1948 and 1967 Palestinians could have accepted Israel’s existence and declared a Palestinian state in the non occupied West Bank and Gaza.

Hamas are Islamist fanatics first and foremost. They don’t give a shit about the lives or wellbeing of Palestinians. Holy war for Islamic domination is their goal. Destruction of Israel and expulsion of Jews is just the first step in their ideological goal.
Hamas had a whole conference about what they would do after their victory against Israel.

It becomes a problem when pro Palestinians are purely anti Israel. The destruction of Israel is routinely demanded, which would mean death and displacement for half the world’s Jews.
A truly pro Palestinian position would also be against the religious fanatics of Hamas and their disregard for the wellbeing of Palestinians.

Some religions in some flavors cause immense suffering though.
Yes, Inuit for example have a diet largely based on fish and meat. Steppe herders like mongols are another example of a culture with regular meat consumption.
Medieval Barcelona had a higher meat consumption than today. The article also gives other examples of high meat consumption from medieval England and Vikings.

Yes, the social support structure is essential. If you have extended family for example; that will help you out a lot with costs and care. Families are small, atomized and fractured today.
