Wait, is that really it? Because that’s fucking awesome.

I’ve always assumed it was some sort of ornate, ceremonial hammer made of pure gold that they keep in a special chamber, but now that you mentioned it, I really hope it’s just a claw hammer they borrow from the maintenance guy.
To he fair to Brooks (which I hate to do, since he is a shithead), he was very aware of the dangers of Trump and endorsed Hillary, Biden, and Kamala in the last three elections. He has even said that he was wrong about Bernie, and now acknowledges that his kind of economic populism is the only thing that could have stopped Trump’s fascist populism. That being said, he’s spent the last three decades promoting the kind of Regan-style neoliberalism and Bush-style imperialism that got us into this mess, so fuck him.
Not really. QAnon was only on 4Chan for the first year, then it migrated to 8Chan. But the tl;dr is it was probably started as a joke, taken over by bad-faith trolls, and has been under the control of Ron Watkins and his creepy son for a significant amount of time. QAnon Anonymous (now named QAA) is a great Podcast that’s been tracking the Q movement and other right-wing extremists for years.
Maybe, but I imagine the Secret Service has a drone-attack plan. I would guess that most of D.C. is probably a no-fly zone for drones, and they probably lock down the White House it anyone violates it. I think as long as he continues to split his time between Mar-a-Lago and the White House, Trump is relatively safe.
If he starts doing more speaking tours, though, that might make him more vulnerable. There’s also a staggering amount of disorder and incompetence because of his attacks on federal workers and his terrible cabinet appointments, so I guess it’s possible he’s already opened himself up to security risks. Who knows.
It’s probably pretty low. The secret service was already caught with their pants down once when that guy took a shot at Trump over the summer, so they’re probably going to be on high alert for a while. On top of that, Trump is better protected as the President than a candidate, with access to the White House, Air Force One, the Beast (his Limo), etc. There are probably more people who want to take a shot at him than other Presidents, but I doubt it’s gonna happen.
Most of the in-costume stuff is, and the Black Ranger doesn’t break dance in that. But there’s usually an out of costume fight with Putties before that.
I think it was probably an even bigger mistake to have the Black Ranger fight with break dancing Kung-Fu moves, but what do I know.
Yes! And there’s no, “Thumbs Down,” or, “Not Interested,” option, eo you can’t make him go away! Every fucking time I watch Last Week Tonight I have to see this smug dipshit’s stupid face.
Why would I buy a device that I don’t really own, i.e. the manufacturer can pull the rug from under it at any time and render it completely useless?
Yeah, this is why I’m so fucking pissed about the lack of non-digital games. I understand that games have tons of updates, and that the idea of a physical game has been declining for years, but there was at least still a physical, 1.0 version of a Nintendo game I could buy and play on my Switch. If Nintendo no longer sells that product, they no longer have a product I want.
It’s not my place to tell you how to feel about Obama. He was certainly competent and effective in many ways, and if you feel that makes him, “good,” fine. However, he used drones to assassinate American citizens, he created an opaque drone warfare program that Congress has no oversight over, and he prosecuted more people under the Espionage Act than all other presidents combined, none of whom were actual spies.
Whether you believe he was justified in these actions or not, they have downstream consequences, all of which benefit Trump. When Obama criticizes Trunp for attacking journalists, it is more than fair to point out that hypocrisy. We have an authoritarian president right now, and if we’re ever going to take back power from him, we’ve got to acknowledge how we got here and take corrective action.
Nothing happens overnight, and it’s not being edgy to point out how we got here. Bush got us accustomed to an unending wat on, “terrorism,” Obama used drones to target terrorists in any nation without national approval, and now Trump will deport protesters for aiding terrorism and bomb Yemen over signal.
Bush attacked the Press for, “giving aid and comfort,” to our enemies, Obama prosecuted leakers and publishers under the Espionage Act, and now Trump will openly bully publications he doesn’t like with frivolous lawsuits and threats of prosecution. History didn’t start in January.
I actually like Nintendo’s devices, though. Sony and Microsoft produce basically the same product every generation, but Nintendo usually tries something different. But $80 games with no physical option is fucking disgusting. I’m pretty sure they’ve decided that physical media is a threat to their abusive IP practices, and their going to finally destroy game preservation once and for all. This is the final straw for me; I’ll just pirate anything I want going forward.
It didn’t even need to take someone’s job. A summary of an article or paper with hallucinated information isn’t replacing anyone, but it’s definitely making search results worse.
Maybe if a service isn’t ready to be used by the public you shouldn’t put it in every product you make.
Maybe that’s because every time a new AI feature rolls out, the product it’s improving gets substantially worse.
I’m a big Nintendo apologist. I’ve argued in the past that their consoles are the only ones worth buying over a gaming PC (not including Steamdeck there), and while I have never defend their terrible IP practices, I have been willing to overlook it and continue buying their products. This shit is indefensible. The price hike would be bad enough, but killing off physical games is a disgrace. Nintendo fans should be angrier than everyone else, not defending this shit.
That’s definitely part of it. I would say the trucks that are literally becoming unglued (while the CEO is figuratively) are causing equal, if not greater, damage.
I think that’s true for some of them, mostly the Wall Street folks who have enough diversified wealth to buy a lot of stock during the crash and wait it out. But I think the start-up folks, who’s companies have often never been profitable, and rely entirely on investors over-inflating their value to survive, are freaking the fuck out right now. And I think Trump is just legitimately dumb, doesn’t understand that a trade deficit doesn’t mean America is losing money, and genuinely doesn’t understand tariffs.
No matter who you are, no matter where you work, the facilities team is really in charge.
